What is the difference between Counselling and Psychotherapy?
Counselling refers to short term consultations for presenting issues which can be readily accessed.
Often these can be addressed in 6 to 10 sessions.
Psychotherapy refers to longer term treatment.
It looks into a persons psychological history and childhood to discover the root of personality conflicts and
helps a client understand the "why" and basis of their behaviour.
Once this is discovered, behaviour modification is possible.
